| Adlington, Debbie |
| Speaker, Business owner |
Debbie Adlington is the sole survivor of one of the most gruesome family murders ever to happen in South Africa. In January 2001, Tony Adlington bludgeoned Debbie three times on the head with the back of an axe, then one by one axed his two sons and their sister to death, doused their bodies with petrol, set them alight and shot himself dead.
Miraculously Debbie, who is considered to be a walking miracle, survived the attack and clawed her way out of a coma and proved herself an exceptional fighter with an indescribable will to survive. Stay Positive!
Today Debbie serves to inspire many fellow South Africans. Through inspirational talks, Debbie tells her tale of survival and speaks about how she went on to not only survive intense physical wounds and deep emotional heartache, but through positive thinking picked herself up and went on to give birth to a new baby girl, Kylie-Ann, buy a home, start her own successful business and wrote a best selling book, Mom, Interrupted.
Famicide is a common phenomenon in South Africa and Debbie has also made it her mission to help others see the warning signs and possibly prevent further similar tragedies within family circles.
As an inspirational speaker, Debbie is testimony and example that there is still hope after suffering incredible loss and through the power of positive thinking shows that with underlying hope there can be life after death. |

| Alison, Alison |
| Inspiring Public Speaker |
Alison's personal story of tradgedy and triumph has led to her becoming one of the most successful keynote speakers on the International Professional Speaking Circuit.
Her story begins in December 1994, when Alison was abducted by two men who took her to the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, where they raped and brutally assaulted her.
She was stabbed more than 30 times in the abdomen and had her throat slit from side to side. She was left for dead. Alison managed to find her way to the road where the driver of a passing car stopped and found her.
Despite the odds she lived and one year after her ordeal she shared her story from the heart, thereby breaking the code of silence on rape and assault in SA. She is an extremely sought after speaker, having visited over 20 countries world-wide sharing her story.

| Banks, Mark |
| Comedian |
Mark Banks recently celebrated 20 years as a one-man entertainer. Mark originally started in the performing arts at the age of 11 when uniquely, he was able to balance an entire Zulu rondavel, and its contents on his chin, while singing I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing by the then-New Seekers.
In 1985 he entered the Grahamstown Festival Eistedford and came 71st out of an outstanding lot of entries with his first one man show Stars of South Africa.
When Mark is not busy entertaining as a Comedian, Master of Ceremonies, Satirist and Satire related duties involving fun things, he has moonlighted with a guest spot on Safm’s Big Big Brunch show, BBC World Service Weather Report and occasionally helps out with Port Elizabeth’s Radio Algoa 'Memories are Made of This' – old folk’s nostalgia request programme.
Mark Banks represented South Africa at the 'Just for Laughs' Comedy Festival in Montreal in 1996 where he was awarded absolutely nothing as no awards are given at this prestigious event. It’s not that sort of “do”.
Banks has always been a very humble and self-deprecating member of the show business firmament. Among his achievements, Banks wrote the screenplay for 'The English Patient', staged two complete touring ice shows in Europe, and hand carved a life style statue of Celine Dion for the Durban City Hall steps in record time. |
